Job Title: Cloud Solution Architect - Azure/AWS

Location: Remote

Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Contract

Rate: £500-£550 Daily (Inside IR35)

Clearance: Active Security Clearance Required

About the Role: The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using Terraform specifically for Azure/AWS. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of cloud architecture to drive automation and innovation within our infrastructure management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Architect and implement scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions using Terraform.
  • High-Level and Low-Level Design: Develop high-level designs, review client-provided designs, and build low-level designs for implementation.
  • Cloud Solutions Design: Experience in designing cloud solutions centered around IaC (Terraform), ensuring traceability and security across all infrastructure deployments.
  • Integration with CI/CD: Work closely with development and security teams to integrate Terraform solutions into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide guidance and mentorship on best practices in infrastructure automation.
  • Cloud Cost Optimization: Analyze usage patterns and trends to provide recommendations for optimizing cloud costs.
  • Azure Cloud Transformation Projects: Experience with complex Azure Cloud transformation projects and implementing cloud technologies.
  • Innovative Solutions Architecting: Expertise in architecting innovative and customer-focused solutions with Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Azure Landing Zone Deployment: Design and deploy Azure Landing Zone for data center exit programs.
  • Application Migration Documentation: Write Low Level Design (LLD) and Physical Design Documents (PDD) for application migrations/modernization from existing data centers to Azure Cloud.
  • Documentation: Expert in creation/maintain high-level and low-level design documentation based on customer requirements.
  • Solution Development: Guide the team to develop new solutions using web services, IoT, Azure Gateway, Serverless functions, and other cloud objects.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to develop Terraform designs to migrate workloads and lead the design and implementation of best practices for cloud infrastructure and security.

Required Industry Experience:

  • Technology Solutions Architect: Twelve plus years of experience.
  • Cloud Engineering Role: Minimum of 5 years, with at least 3 years focused on using Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work under deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Required Skills:

  • Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with major cloud service providers Azure and AWS.
  • CI/CD Tools: Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Version Control: Solid understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Scripting and Automation: Experience with scripting languages (YAML, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
