We are seeking a Philosophy, Religion and Ethics Teacher to join our team of committed professionals to teach KS3 and KS4. This post is suitable for an experienced teacher or ECT with a passion for teaching Religious Studies or Philosophy.  


The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher specialising in Religious Studies and/or Philosophy, who is passionate about teaching and learning, have a positive outlook and excellent interpersonal skills. They will be an Outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for achievements and behaviour, ensuring that all of our children achieve their very best. They will be committed to contributing to the values, ethos and the development of our school. 


PRE at Chiltern Hills is a core subject with most students taking GCSE. We are a strong, collaborative team working alongside the wider Humanities subjects. It would be desirable, but not essential to have experience teaching other Humanities subjects.

Chiltern Hills Academy is a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy. Based in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, we are located in the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line. We have recently completed a building programme to accommodate growing numbers and add to our well-resourced teaching environment. 

Our recent OFTSED inspection (2022) judged that the school continued to be ‘good’ school in all categories and recorded that "Leaders are highly ambitious for all pupils at the school, and the curriculum is at the heart of this ambition. Leaders have high aspirations for pupils to achieve the best possible qualifications.”  

On behaviour the inspectors found "High expectations for pupils’ behaviour mean that lessons are positive and purposeful, and that behaviour is calm around school.”
