This a full time Senior Clinical Fellow Post in Paediatric Urology in for out of programme training and service provision. The post holder will be able to gain advanced paediatric Urology experience during the two year period structured programme. Position is initially for 12 months extendable to 2 years based on performance review. This post is ideal for some one who is looking to either give FRCS Paed Surg exam or CESR application.

This is a full time post with additional on call commitments to general paediatric surgery rota. A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive due consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly with colleagues and deliver a first-class service to patients. A combination of ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatres, ward cover, administrative and CPD sessions will be undertaken.

The post-holder will be responsible to the lead for paediatric urology and should expect regular supervised meetings to discuss patient care. He/she is expected to play a full role in the departmental teaching and training programme and be registered for Trust's Appraisal and Continuing Professional Development Scheme.

Eligible for registration or hold registration with the GMC MBBS (or equivalent) MRCS /AFRCS or equivalent. Completion of at least 3 years Higher Surgical Training (or equivalent) in Paediatric Surgery at time of interview

National Training Number with a CCT date BSc (or other intercalated degree) FRCS (Paeds) or FRCS (Urology) Other higher degrees / qualifications

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

For NTN holders who are looking for subspeciality training in paediatric urology at a centre with some emergency paediatric surgical experience. No evidence of prolonged (> 3 months) independent practice Experience of working at multiple paediatric surgical centres in the last 5 years Demonstration of some experience in paediatric urology during paediatric surgery training Demonstration of commitment to Paediatric Urology as specialty
