Leeds University Union (LUU) is a charity that helps over 38,000 students Love their time at Leeds. Located at the heart of campus, the Union is a space to meet people, make new friends and get involved.

Joblink is LUU’s On-Campus student employment service whose core focus is to provide students with quality employment so they can earn as they learn, pick up new skills and make friends. It also builds and maintains strong partnerships with local employers seeking to connect with our students.

What we’re looking for

The summer months are some of the busiest months of the year for the Joblink team.

We work with a variety of hospitality, festival and events companies where we recruit, and coordinate large volumes of staff.

Events include music festivals, weddings, conferences, gigs and sporting.

We’re looking for a team player, who has a passion for delivering excellent customer service, and a keen eye for detail. The ability to multi-task is key as you will be working on multiple tasks and small projects at any one time. You will also have a flexible approach to work due to some events being into evenings and at weekends.

What will you be doing?

  • Screening job applications, shortlisting and inviting applicants for interviews/inductions
  • Interviewing and skills testing applicants
  • Onboarding appointments, recruitment administration and registering new workers
  • Assisting the Joblink team with recruitment tasks
  • Coordinating temporary staff during events, on occasion being the main point of contact for Joblink
  • Providing a high level of customer service to applicants, workers and hiring manager

Joblink is a recruitment agency that employs 100’s of students per week working within a variety of local employers across multiple sectors, and operates a job site utilised by many local and national employers looking to reach out and advertise to students at the University of Leeds. Additionally, Joblink organises events for employers to visit the University of Leeds campus and engage directly with our students.

Duration of role

This is a temporary role for up to 3 months. (A similar permanent year round role is planned to be advertised shortly)

Hours of work

Full time 36.5 hours per week  5 days over 7 (including some weekends.) Start and end times may vary but on a standard day will ne 8.50am - 5pm 

Location of work

In LUU plus with site visits to events
