Senior Buyer - Bathgate - £35-40k

Purpose: Assist in optimizing returns by ensuring successful commercial delivery of projects whilst protecting the business from commercial risk. Implementing company
procurement and commercial procedures.

Skills / Experience
Graduate or HND/HNC/CIPS Level 4 with experience or sub HND with substantial experience
• Commercially aware
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret construction industry conditions of contract
• IT skills including Word, Excel, Power point, Nav

Key Accountabilities:

• Awareness of legislation affecting Procurement & Commercial activities.
• Assist in purchasing processes.
• Assist in the execution of the full contract cycle.
• Assist in the implementation of the purchasing policy and processes
• Maintain relationships within the internal team and with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist in management of procurement and commercial risk.
• Assist in management of the tendering process.
• Interact with performance and compliance department.

Key Performance Indicators
Contribution to the timely achievement of contract award to ensure that the procurement function meets the business and delivery objectives of the project.
• Contribution to the Procurement Key Performance Indicators to assist the
department’s annual targets.
• Contribution to tendering and contract review process.
• Contribution to a commercially well informed, qualified and professional project team with few quickly resolved project disputes.
• Contribution to the successful, well managed contract life spans with few or no disputes and payments made on time.
• Assist in the timely production purchasing and procurement information
