Sales assistant – Atlantic

We are looking for a full time sales assistant to support a friendly and dynamic sales team based in London.
The successful candidate will report to the Sales Director and will be responsible for producing and circulating sales and commission reports, processing and releasing orders, creating presentations and circulating materials and being the first point of contact for direct sales enquiries both internally and externally. There will also be some light general admin support for the Managing Director as part of this role.
Other major areas of responsibility include:
Managing sales materials, mailings & couriering to reps, authors and customersArranging event stock and assisting with stock signingsUpdating systems, setting up discounts & processing retrosCoordinating & minuting meetings, organising diaries and greeting authors & agentsAssisting with set up and manning the stand at Book Fairs (London & Frankfurt)
Knowledge, skills and experience
This is an entry-level position offering an exciting opportunity to start a publishing career with a respected independent publisher. Previous experience is helpful, though not essential, as we are more interested in finding a candidate with the willingness to take initiative, good teamworking & strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task. A desire to build a career in Sales is an advantage.This is a full-time role based at our head office in Bloomsbury, central London. We operate a hybrid working policy, with core hours of 10am-4pm, and a minimum of two days a week in the office. We are, however, happy to consider individual circumstances for the right candidate.
Atlantic incorporates Atlantic Books, Corvus, Allen & Unwin and Grove Press lists, and together they publish a broad range of literary & commercial fiction and non-fiction while Murdoch Books specialize in food & drink and lifestyle publishing, as well as a small children’s list. Both are members of the Independent Alliance of publishers.
