We are looking for a Microbiology Technician to join our friendly team at our laboratories in High Wycombe. Working with a team of microbiologists, you'll be responsible for carrying out microbiological challenge testing studies in support of NPD and troubleshooting. You'll be instrumental in driving microbial food safety and quality within the business.

To excel in this role, you'll need to be a driven individual who demonstrates good attention to detail and record-keeping. This role requires someone who is agile and has proven good organisational abilities and is self-motivated. For this role, we're really keen to bring in someone who is a champion of fresh ideas. Good inter-personnel skills and good teamwork are essential for this role.

• To perform microbiological analysis and challenge testing of products including:
  • Media preparation
  • Sample preparation and dilution
  • Pipetting and plate pouring
  • Plate counting
  • Confirmation tests
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Culture preparation
  • Product inoculation
• To perform product profiling - pH and water activity analysis for microbiological risk assessment.
• To partake in appropriate, timely and effective response to any microbial food safety issues.
• To perform all duties in accordance with ISO 17025 principles.
