Exciting Opportunity for a Procurement Manager (public sector) in Manchester
Our client, a public sector organisation in Manchester, is seeking a talented and motivated Procurement Manager to join their team. As the Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the organisation obtains value for money from its contracts and operates in line with the Procurement Act 2023.
This role is initially a 3 year FTC with potential for extension.
What's in it for you?

- Salary up to 60,000 depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver a wide range of procurement projects, including tenders and framework call-offs, while aligning with the Procurement Act 2023.
- Actively contribute to the implementation and guidance of changes mandated by the Procurement Act 2023.
- Ensure that all procurement processes are efficient, legally compliant, and deliver value for money.
- Provide training to staff on procurement policies and any changes
- Foster strong relationships with colleagues involved in the procurement process and promote best practises.
- Serve as a point of contact for the escalation and resolution of procurement issues.
- Ensure compliance with transparency requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Support the updating/replacement of the procurement system.
Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of procurement legislation and regulations
- Previous experience managing procurement processes within the public sector
- Either MCIPS qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.
- Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to establish credibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Flexible approach with excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects, including process redesign and change management and implementing new ERP systems
