Job Purpose:
To support the Learners Apprenticeship journey from start to completion, including on-boarding, induction, knowledge training, skills coaching and continuous\ summative assessment ensuring readiness for End Point Assessment.
To develop and manage positive employer relationships to ensure Apprentices develop new knowledge skills, behaviours and encourage the further development of new talent and upskilling/retraining of existing staff. To teach practical skills and knowledge units either on site or other sites approved by the University.
To maintain accurate records to meet all funding and University compliance procedures and processes; utilising digital systems to enhance and record the apprenticeship journey.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To proactively support and contribute to the growth of the apprenticeship provision including proactively engaging with non-levy and levy paying businesses and existing employers; inclusive of on-boarding of new employers and their Apprentices.
Undertake Apprentices’ tripartite progress review visits and support on End Point Assessment activities with line managers and their Apprentices; managing any issues which arise.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including line managers the University's Student Support Service, Hired, Learning Services, Finance, Library, Registry, Exams and IT Services to create a vibrant partnership between the apprenticeship, its apprentices and all UCB support services using a variety of methods.
To be responsible for an agreed caseload with regular visits to employer sites, commensurate with contracted hours, programme levels and UCB quality requirements.
Undertake the role of Coach/Tutor/Instructor for apprentices in your caseload as they develop, in order to support apprentices in resolving challenges in order to maintain and improve retention and achievement rates of learners. Make referrals to the dedicated academic and learning support services as required.
To carry out a range of administrative tasks associated with Apprenticeships and assessment regulations: Attraction, ‘Sign-up', enrolment, tracking and completion of learners’ progress, liaising with the apprentice and the employer throughout the duration of the-programme to keep them informed and on track.
Assist with the planning and delivery of induction programmes and on-going induction to support apprentices’ transition to learning.
Consistently follow processes and procedures required by UCB to ensure compliance with funding body rules and regulations.
Lead on the continuous and summative assessment and evidencing of skills, knowledge and behaviour development in the workplace, in liaison with the key employers.
Design and adapt learning resources/materials and deliver workshops to support the skills, knowledge and behaviour development required in the workplace using e-portfolio software and e-learning platforms as appropriate.
Develop structured tasks to help apprentices become familiar with the requirements of the Standards and associated e-portfolio software, requirements of End Point Assessment and develop good practice regarding making regular referenced entries on their e-portfolio.
Engage with all quality assurance procedures to ensure that University standards are met.
Assist in appropriate pre-entry, recruitment, selection and admissions activities (including Open Days, employer events, business expos and Visit Days) in order to promote apprenticeships and gain a better understanding of both employer and potential apprentice’s needs/expectations.
Report to and work with Apprenticeship Account Lead, peers and the apprenticeship service team to plan, manage and review effective cooperation between apprentices, employers and individual Schools within UCB.
To ensure practice is in line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations.
To commit to upholding the principles of Safeguarding and the PREVENT agenda.
Any other duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
