What does the Force Records Clerk entail?

Reporting to the Force Records Supervisor you will provide an effective and efficient administrative support service by researching force systems and retaining information in accordance to policy and legislation.

Duties will include, but not be limited to;

To implement the force records management strategy having regard to the requirements of Management of Police Information (MoPI).

To be responsible for the daily processing of operational records from across the force area.

To administer and maintain the force archive database.

To maintain an effective filing and retrieval system for all force records in conjunction with Force Archive staff as appropriate.

To provide a central point of contact and service for the retrieval of force records when requested.

To facilitate the review and eventual disposal of archived material by identified owners from across the force.

What will I need to be considered for the Force Records Clerk role?

NVQ level 3, or equivalent level of qualification, in an Administration related subject, or an equivalent amount of relevant proven experience.

A good understanding of the NPCC Guidance on The Management of Police Information (Second edition 2010) and completion of the associated NCalt learning package.

A good understanding of the Force Information Standards Policy and supporting document set

The use of Information Technology to an intermediate level that includes a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

A comprehensive working knowledge of RMS procedures
