Location: Glasgow

Salary: £43.7k - £44.4k per annum (Dependent on skills & qualifications)

We are recruiting for a Pipeline Officer to join our Maintenance Department, based in Glasgow reporting to a Pipeline Engineer. The role will include involvement in all aspects of high-pressure pipeline maintenance, contributing to the continued long-term integrity of SGN’s high pressure pipeline network.

 

What will you be doing day to day?

  • Your routine workloads will include the monitoring, maintenance and remediation of the Cathodic Protection systems in place on pipelines.
  • Interacting with all Stakeholders on pipeline safety, including landowners, farmers, local authorities and 3rd party contractors.
  • Carrying out routine survey work on the pipeline network.

 

What you’ll need

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure positive interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the high-pressure pipeline network owned and operated by SGN.
  • A flexible and positive attitude to work, self-motivated to deliver work to a high standard.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and maps.
  • Awareness of procedures relevant to Pipelines, particularly; IGEM TD/1, SGN/PM/MAINT/5, SGN/PM/ECP/2 & SGN/WI/SW/2.
  • A strong understanding of the principals of Cathodic Protection is essential.
  • You must be physically fit, capable of walking long distances over rough ground.
  • Full driving license is essential.
  • You will be expected to take part in the Maintenance standby as required.
