We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring specialist teacher to lead our brand-new Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP), opening September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of an innovative strategy across the Local Authority, with Garton on the Wolds Primary School being one of the first schools to offer this new provision.

This unique position involves teaching a bespoke curriculum to a small group of pupils from across the primary age range, all who have EHCPs naming Enhanced Resource Provision. The learners will have a range of complex communication needs. As such, the successful candidate will ideally have experience of planning personalised curriculum pathways and delivering a range of strategies designed to support learners who have significant communication differences.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with strong inclusive values as well as a positive and flexible team player. The role will also involve working with a small, group of teaching assistants, therefore the post holder will need to have had experience of deploying and guiding a team of teaching assistants.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge, experience and understanding of the full primary age range and must have a significant interest in or experience of SEND.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating individualised teaching and learning programs for children with moderate learning difficulties.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist experience in teaching pupils with MLD in a primary school setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and its application to pupils with MLD
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues, parents and external agencies to support pupils with MLD
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in an accessible manner
  • Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating individualised learning programmes for pupils with MLD
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy and practice relating to pupils with MLD.
