Senior Tax Manager Job Vacancy

This leading independent accountancy firm is looking for an exceptional Senior Tax Manager to join their team in Taunton to oversee the tax department, offer compliance and advisory services for personal and corporate clients and to support the junior team. This role offers a high degree of flexibility and the possibility for hybrid or remote working.

What are we looking for? You’ll be CTA and/or ACCA/ACA/CA qualified with several years' experience at a senior level in a tax team, managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met.

This Senior Tax Manager job in Taunton is suited to someone who already has strong personal tax advisory experience, is prepared to hit the ground running and support the leadership team with the mentoring and development of the junior staff.

Job Purpose
Complete and review personal and corporate tax returnsEnsure client assignments are completed in an accurate and timely mannerWork collaboratively with the wider tax team, utilising resource effectively to maximise client serviceTo provide both high level tax compliance and tax advisory services to clientsResearch specialist tax issues as required and formulating solutionsDevelop and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring awareness of their requirementsRecognise and respond to clients’ business needs, providing quality tax advice on all aspects of assignmentsApply knowledge and skills in tax advisory for high-net-worth individuals.Apply knowledge of inheritance tax to clients.Support the Partners with provision of advice on entrepreneur’s relief, investment bond withdrawals, trust planning, capital gains, voting rights and landed estates.HMRC appealsSupporting the Partners on the commercial development of the firm.Managing a team of accountants, overseeing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met.Empower the tax team through appropriate delegation and effective people managementConsistently seek internal improvement, presenting opportunities to senior leadershipDemonstrate commitment to the firms ongoing strategic direction, communicating and adapting to changeManage margins effectively to drive profitabilitySuccessful engagement of new clientsIdentify changes in Tax legislation and how they affect clients and promote new advisory projectsSupport the leadership team with the mentoring and development of junior staff
