Bookkeeper Position Overview
- Process supplier/cost of sales invoices on construction software (Construct by Eque2)
- Process subcontractor payment certificates on construction software (Construct by Eque2)
- Managing the monthly payment cycle, collation of invoices and subcontractor payment notices for Quantity Surveyor authorisation. Monitoring authorisations and liaising with Quantity Surveyors to ensure all payments are made on time.
- Process overhead invoices/expenses directly to Sage 200.
- Raise sales invoices and email them to customers.
- Credit control.
- Process timesheets and enter costs onto construction software (Construct by Eque2)
- Run monthly payroll on Sage Payroll and file EPS/FPS to HMRC.
- Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare and file monthly CIS returns.
- Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Reconciling bank accounts daily.
- Process bank payments for the director to authorise.
- Scanning all documents.
- Answering the phone when required.
- Manage supplier credit applications
- Manage supplier and subcontractor information on construction software (Construct by Eque2).
Bookkeeper Position Requirements
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Good attention to detail, computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software is required.
- Experience of Sage 200 would be preferable but not essential.
- Being methodical and able to work on your own initiative, you will be a key player in ensuring the accounts department of the business flows smoothly.
- Experience in the construction industry would be advantageous.
- No professional qualification is required. However, experience gained in an accounts department is important, together with a sound knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, sales ledger, purchase ledger and general ledger.
Bookkeeper Position Remuneration
- Fully office-based position working Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
- Salary depending on experience, ranging from 28-38k
