Job overview

We are looking for someone who is committed, enthusiastic, and has excellent communication skills. This individual should have an understanding of the challenges that older adults experience and how these impact their well-being. The position is part-time, 22.5 hours.

You will be based in the Broad Street Centre in Dagenham and will be supported and receive regular supervision as per the policy. The Trust supports continuing professional development with a range of in-house trainings and opportunities.

You will be part of a well-established multi-disciplinary service comprised of nurses, psychologist, occupational therapists, and Medical doctors.

 

Main duties of the job

 Communicate effectively with a range of people, either in person or on the telephone, promptly and in a professional and courteous manner whilst recognising barriers to communication.

  • Processing new referrals to the team in timely manner following the agreed pathway.
  • Ensure that complex calls from anxious and distressed clients are appropriately dealt with and pass/escalate to the relevant staff or a senior member of staff if appropriate.
  • Respond to enquiries, and take appropriate action on behalf of the service, either by telephone, personal contact, or correspondence, within agreed time limits.
  • Manage and maintain an efficient administrative system on behalf of others.
  • Draft general correspondence on behalf of own service.
  • Accurately produce reports, correspondence, and documents from a variety of sources including material from Microsoft Team meetings.
  • Ensure workload is managed and prioritised appropriately.
  • Participate in induction and orientation of newly recruited administrative staff and temporary staff.
  • To work to organisations appraisal process and to evidence that you are achieving required level of performance.
  • Establish and maintain electronic  filing systems.
  • Arrange and take minutes or notes at meetings.
  • Responsible for ordering stationery and other supplies via the electronic procurement system, receipting goods, ensuring stock levels are maintained and chasing shortfalls.
