Hebden Bridge, United Kingdom Calder High School Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Leadership Team which is being strengthened in readiness for the next exciting phase of our development. Whilst continuing to build on our achievements and to improve our attainment and progress at all key stages, we aim to augment our established Leadership Team with new posts to improve the quality of support we provide pupils and students across The Calder Learning Trust. Central to this new role will be to work closely with senior members of the Leadership Team in further developing and enhancing our pastoral support and intervention programmes particularly focusing on improving attendance and securing appropriate curriculum provision for some of our most vulnerable pupils and students.

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who embodies the values of care, commitment and courage to lead in this area of responsibility with energy, empathy and enthusiasm, actively participating in school life and will make a valuable and sustained contribution to our wider community.

The Calder Learning Trust employs rolling recruitment methodologies, with shortlisting and interviews for some roles taking place as and when applications are received.

This may mean that some roles are recruited before the closing date, and  therefore advise that applications are made without undue delay.

Applicants must have significant senior leadership experience and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality teaching to promote outstanding progress and attainment for all. We are looking for an exceptional teacher who can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering whole school improvement; a colleague who can support, enthuse, challenge and inspire staff, students and pupils, continuing to improve the quality of education and bring about demonstrable improvements in our pastoral systems.

Please complete the application form and include a formal letter of application. Your letter should address the key elements of the role and the points identified in the job description and reflect on how in this role you can support the restoration of the social contract that has long bound schools and parents together. The letter should be a maximum of 3 sides of A4, a minimum font size 11 and applications must be received by 9.00am on Friday 19th April 2024.

The closing date for completed applications is Friday 19 April 2024 at 9am.

Interviews will be held on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April 2024.
