Clinical Fellow / Clinical Research Fellow in General & Gastrointestinal Surgery
(Specialty Registrar Higher level)
Base: University Hospital of Wales (UHW)
Responsible to: Mr Antonio Foliaki, Clinical lead & Gastrointestinal Surgeon
The department of Oesophagogastric surgery forms part of the South Wales Upper GI Cancer network and also provides an acute general surgical service for Cardiff and Vale ULHB, providing comprehensive tertiary diagnostic and surgical treatments for the full spectrum of benign and malignant Oesophagogastric disease for South Wales, and is the Cancer Centre for Upper GI Cancer resection for South Wales, with a major research interest in the field of Oesophagogastric cancer. The Unit delivers high volumes of surgery for benign disease much of which is undertaken in The Day Surgery Unit in Llandough Hospital.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to carry out surgery, as well as provide expertise in the diagnosis, assessment and on-going management of patients..
