Role summary/ purpose of job

The cashiers team provide an essential service to the business, and comprises of two teams, Client and Office, dealing with matter related costs and office running costs respectively. The cashiers function is a fast paced environment, providing support to each other, in order to deliver the service expected by the firm.

The person appointed will have joint responsibility for the processing of the firms invoices; expenses; Internal recharges; and other related tasks which fall under the team ensuring these are processed in an orderly and timely manner.

The person must have the necessary skills to be able to cross train in all the roles required of the team, so they are in a position to cover as required. As part of their further development within the department, there will be a requirement to cross train in all the roles, so they are in a position to provide support to the department as a whole as and when required.

Key responsibilities and deliverables
  • Processing the firm's invoices and payments in relation to the running cost of the firm;
  • Processing payments via the firm's preferred electronic banking platform;
  • Reconciling creditor statements and following up with the creditor or spender to ensure invoices are identified and paid in a timely manner;
  • Liaising with partners, staff and suppliers in relation to payments etc. made on their behalf;
  • Provide support with the firms expenses process - Chrome River.
  • General Ad-hoc duties.

    Key Requirements
    • Educated to GCSE level. A minimum of grade C in Maths and English;
    • Previous experience in a cashiering role;
    • PC literate with experience of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Visio;
    • Excellent knowledge of Excel;
    • Experience gained in a blue chip environment.

      Desirable
      • A very good working knowledge of 3E; Basware;
      • Competencies
      • Excellent communication skills - essential as the role requires you to liaise at all levels;
      • A flexible and adaptable team player;
      • Positive approach and the ability to remain calm when under pressure;
      • Ability to prioritise daily workload and use own initiative;
      • Attention to detail;
      • Ability to multitask.
