As a tutor you will be at the heart of our delivery. Therefore you must possess the ability to motivate learners to develop their skills and reach their full potential. You will have passion and the empathy required to work with young people between the ages of sixteen to nineteen with differing abilities, including those with additional needs. You will use innovative methods to deliver creative, fun and engaging sessions for maths (or English) with a focus on supporting the learners to achieve their qualifications.

This role includes full tutoring responsibilities, including developing your own curriculum against standards, planning and prepping sessions and marking work. You will be part of our regular team meetings and we will provide you with opportunities for professional development.

These Trainee Tutor opportunities are the ideal roles for graduates looking for experience to support a future career working with young people.

For the right candidate we are offering a one-year training opportunity. We are looking for articulate and engaging individuals to become a qualified Tutor with all fees covered.

Required skills and experience:

  • Willing and self motivated to study to work towards a Level 4 (or above) Education and Training teaching qualification
  • Ability to deliver Functional Skills and GCSE English or maths (entry level to level 2) (depending on the role you are applying for) and have the qualifications to deliver both (entry level to level 2) for cover purposes
  • Excellent delivery skills and proficient classroom management
  • Excellent time management and planning capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of the English spoken language
  • Great coordination and organisational skills
  • Be innovative, fast thinking and versatile
  • Self-motivated and able to work to performance targets and KPIs
  • Good general levels of IT skills including MS Office
