Do you have care experience and a drive to support a disabled actor and filmmaker in achieving their goals? 

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and efficient support worker to support a disabled actor and filmmaker by reducing and removing barriers in order for them to fulfil their best potential. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter with exceptional communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. 

This role requires demonstrating an excellent understanding of the clients needs. Paid disability and/or Film & TV training will be provided if necessary. 

You will be working mainly from their home based in East London, with flexibility to work remotely when possible. Whilst working on productions, this role can occasionally require international travel, sometimes at short notice. Travel and accommodation with a separate room will be provided if necessary. 

 

Responsibilities

Travel buddy (driving & coordinating transport and parking) Coping strategies counsellor (e.g. grounding techniques, focus tasks, mindfulness strategies)Support with mobility assistance and mobility aidsTime management, support with organisation and schedulesSetting up equipment, reminders, and creative support for auditionsFacilitating access to events and venuesScript reading and conducting researchPrompting medication/food/meetings/calls etc. 

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

Proven experience providing care for individuals Registered as self-employed and eligible to work in the UKMust have full driver's license and own carLondon based and within easy reach of employer’s home address in East LondonAble to assist in women’s changing roomsDiscretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential informationExperience within the entertainment industry preferred, along with a demonstrable passion for TV and filmAvailability to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
