Position: Manual Machinist 3-Day Work Week

Are you a skilled manual machinist seeking an enticing opportunity in a thriving industry? Our client is actively seeking an experienced individual to join their team, with a focus on succession planning. The ideal candidate will work three days a week and possess solid experience in basic manual milling and turning, preferably with formal training.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Set up and calibrate machines for precise machining operations.
  • Fabricate pump and compressor components through machining processes.
  • Perform visual inspections on finished parts to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance machining processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a manual machinist in the marine or related industry.
  • Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with machining various materials, including metals and alloys.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Keen attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality work.
  • Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
