Job Purpose

Cadent Gas Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Experience Manager to join their People Services Team.

In conjunction with the MyPeopleServices team the Learning Experience Manager will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Employee Learning Cycle. This includes ensuring that Cadent is operationally compliant with mandatory skills and competency.

Being a Subject Matter Expert in all areas of technical and leadership training is essential as the function needs ensure that the appropriate learning & development interventions are provided. Additionally, the function needs to equip managers and leaders across all business areas with the technical and management capabilities to deliver in their roles, this includes the delivery of all Talent Management programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure training requirements are in line with the Learning and Development Strategy as part of the People Plan. Also work with the Centre of Expertise Talent team to enhance the learning experience of our employees, by implementing our learning strategy
  • Manage the review and maintenance of all curricula, spanning both technical and leadership requirements, for managers, staff and our field force. Ensuring each curricula continues to meet business needs and is fit for purpose, and that any updates are implemented via a change impact assessment and reflected in the Learning Management System.
  • Ensure training and assessment products meet customer needs and are fit for purpose, spanning Emergency, Repair, Connections, O&M, Construction and other technical and non-technical training requirements from other business functions.
  • Manage the agreed governance processes to ensure new training requirements are made available to end users in a timely fashion, engaging with SMEs where necessary to review and sign-off.
  • Engage with third party vendors to enhance Cadents training offerings, ensuring content and delivery method(s) are in line with our wider approach to training and assessment.
  • Enhance blended learning opportunities through maximising the use of technology and digitalisation
  • Manage relationship with all third-party training providers, acting as account/vendor manager for the Training Framework Contracts, and ensuring issues/feedback are dealt with as well as the efficient and accurate payment of vendors, as appropriate.
  • Managing, leading, and coordinating IQA assessments, across our full suite of training offerings
  • Being the first point of contact for awarding bodies, including Streetworks Qualification Register (SWQR), City and Guilds.
  • Managing the issue of Immediate Cascades in a timely manner 
  • Create a simple and structured MI Framework, including end to end process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which delivers to our customers enabling accurate and insightful competence status to be visible at a glance
  • Efficiently manage escalated competency issues, working with relevant stakeholders to resolve both in the immediate and long term.
  • Represent Cadent with external bodies, such as HSE, EUS and external auditors, and be able to explain Cadent's approach to competency management.
Skills and Experience
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Degree Level Qualification
  • NVQ Level 4 IQA
  • Strong leadership, management and influencing/negotiating skills to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, both internally and across stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent contract management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills and a demonstrable ability to meet/manage stakeholder expectations. 
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment and strong knowledge of relevant legislation that governs training and competency needs.
