Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time
Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within Oxford Population Health, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, especially diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.    We are seeking a Clinical Research Fellow to work on ASCEND PLUS, an ongoing national, 20,000 participant, placebo-controlled trial of the GLP1 receptor agonist, semaglutide, in people with type 2 diabetes. ASCEND PLUS is pioneering a novel approach to clinical trial design with participant interactions conducted by telephone or online, and with outcomes of interest being detected by linkage to central NHS records and other healthcare data. Working within an established research team, you will carry out research, which is both of the highest methodological quality and has the greatest possible influence on treatments in people with diabetes.   To be considered for this role you will be medically qualified and GMC registered with a valid licence to practice. You will also need a good grounding and relevant experience in clinical medicine with excellent communication and organisational skills.   The post is full time (although part time will be considered) and fixed term for 2 years. The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 6 September 2024.   You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application. The Supporting Statement should include a cover letter and should also clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description.  Click the 'Apply' button above.

£32,398 to £63,152 per annum (pro rata) dependent on qualifications and experience, in line with current pay protection and transitional arrangements in the NHS
