The role

As a Mechanical/Plumbing Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll undertake planned and reactive maintenance services to mechanical systems and equipment across the Chatham sites, while primarily being based at Brompton Barracks.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Deliver planned, reactive, and remedial maintenance services to all mechanical systems and equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, water hygiene and treatment, sanitary and drainage systems,
  • Complete day to day site checks, work orders, and repairs / fault finding as required.
  • Support and deliver site wide programme of predictive maintenance for mechanical systems, in line with company asset management improvement plan, and lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
  • Have opportunity to take part in an on-call rota for added benefits.

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time OR part time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Brampton Barracks and requires regular travel to nearby Chatham sites on ad hoc basis (company van is provided).

Essential experience of the Mechanical/Plumbing Technician

  • Strong experience with plumbing or a mechanical background
  • Risk assessment experience
  • Adequate computer literacy in Microsoft Office Packages (Work & Excel)

Qualifications for the Mechanical/Plumbing Technician

  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • A qualification in a Mechanical or Plumbing discipline is desirable, but not essential.
