At our Wales facility in Nantgarw, just north of Cardiff, we specialise in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a range of commercial jet engines. We occupy 1.2 million square foot of workshop space, and have 2 state-of-the-art aircraft engine testing facilities, along with a significant repair capability.

The site has the capability to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for a range of engine types - including the worldâs most powerful commercial aircraft engine the GE90 115B and the worldâs most popular commercial engine the CFM56.â¯â¯â¯

In 2017, we were selected as the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility of choice for the GE9X; which will become the worldâs largest and most fuel-efficient jet engine when it launches into service. The site will benefit from a £5m investment from the Welsh Government to support the total £20m investment put forward by the business, to equip and upskill the facility to be ready to maintain the GE9X fleet when it enters service on the new Boeing 777X aircraft.â¯â¯

Our Business Administration Apprenticeships 

 
Run in partnership with Coleg y Cymoedd, our Business Administration Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, global aviation company that prides itself on offering career opportunities for talented individuals. 

 

As a Business Administration Apprentice, youâll get to experience a wide range of business areas including Office Services, Quality, Training, EHS, Safety and Operations.   

 

During the programme youâll spend 3 years rotating through a number of departments, where youâll gain the skills and experiences needed to thrive in a business environment.

Our Business Administration Apprenticeship is a demanding scheme, which requires excellent communication skills - both written and oral, a high degree of IT literacy, exceptional planning and organisation abilities and a proactive approach with a strong, results focus.  

Essential requirements 

To apply, you must have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of 5 GCSEs, at least Grade C or above, to include Mathematics and English Language.  

 

Desired 

B (or above) in GCSE English Language.  

C or above in GCSE Business Studies or ICT.

The Recruitment Process  

 

For successful applicants the first stage of the recruitment process will be a video interview, which will take place in January 2023.  

 

Following this, successful applicants will be invited to attend a series of psychometric tests likely to be held in February, with a final shortlist invited to attend face to face interviews soon after.   

 

On completion of the recruitment process our successful candidates will join GE Wales in September 2023 as our next cohort of Business Administration Apprentices  

 

Please note that the Welsh Government provides different levels of funding for learners aged 16-24 to those outside this age range and this may be a relevant consideration during your application process
