The role

To work as part of our Brit Re team, assisting the Lead Actuaries in London & Bermuda, work closely with the underwriting teams and support other Group functions in respect of the provision of actuarial pricing and business planning activities, insurance risk and other actuarial related activity as required.

On a day-to-day basis you'll assist with and undertake the provision of actuarial pricing support to class underwriters within the underwriting division and ensure there is an appropriate level of actuarial peer review.

You'll assist with and undertake development of existing and new pricing models within Brit Re using actuarial techniques to quantify and evaluate risk factors and analyse the profitability of risks within the division.

You'll assist with and undertake portfolio level analysis to inform business planning and strategic decision making within the division.

About you

You'll be experienced working within an actuarial team within a commercial general insurance or reinsurance setting with exposure to long tailed lines of business.

You'll be progressing through the actuarial exams and be committed to achieving FIA status.

You'll have a commercial outlook and be able to build effective working relationships with the underwriting team.

You'll be able to effectively manage own time to deliver individual and group wide objectives whilst ensuring effective and professional written and verbal communication across all areas of work, encouraging open discussion and contribution from others.

We are located in the Leadenhall Building on Leadenhall Street (EC3V 4AB) and are situated on floors 16 - 18, and 39. All of our floors are accessible by lift, and there are building staff on hand to point you in the right direction.
