The mission of the ESG Client Strategy team is to drive and coordinate GSAM’s client facing and commercial ESG efforts to increase assets across our global sales organization. We are seeking a senior associate / VP to join the ESG Client Strategy team in a product advocacy role to work closely with investment desks and product development to focus on the growing trend of Environmental, Social and Governance investments. In addition, the candidate will work with the ESG strategist and GSAM client teams to help develop a holistic view of GSAM’s ability to implement ESG investment themes throughout different asset classes and across different regions.

The successful candidate will bring a background in product development, sustainability and ESG. The candidate will also need to demonstrate a commitment to a team-oriented culture as a key activity in the role will be to help guide and coordinate with global sales engagements on ESG factors. Excellent communication skills are needed, and experience presenting in a variety of forums. Language skills (French/German/Italian/Spanish) are also preferred.

ESG PRODUCT ADVOCACY - RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Principal Responsibilities

Product Design
Work with ESG strategist, investment desks and product development team to design ESG productObtain senior buy-in on sustainable strategic plans to engage and coordinate activities with internal and external audiencesSupport commercial ambitions by providing expert technical knowledge of the investments, regulatory and competitive positioning of our products and processesLead process for ESG product credentials across investment desks e.g., sustainability fund labels
Regulation
Support ESG strategist on key regulatory matters e.g., SFDR, EU taxonomy, Contribute to the development of ESG communication strategy, including policy, client reporting, RFP, marketing and presentations
Marketing
Liaise with ESG strategist and marketing team to help develop RI and product specific marketing strategy
Sales Support
Support client facing teams, develop and contribute to client coverage trainingSupport the development of a practice to share learnings and experiences on ESG-aligned themes and improve ESG-related skills

Experience / Skills:
Strong product management skillsExcellent project management skillsSelf-driven and passionate professionalAbility to multi-task and work independently Understanding of ESG investment and regulatory frameworks5 - 8 years’ work experience; at least 5 in a product development/management role including 2+ with ESG focusProven presentation, communication (oral and written) and influencing skills with stakeholders.Proficient in Powerpoint and Excel
