Do you have experience within the Precision Engineering industry? If so, my client a sub-contact engineering company is looking for Workshop Manager to work with their Senior Management Team. The type of work they do is extremely varied and entails predominately Milling, Turning and Sheetmetal work. The company can offer a great salary and bonus scheme along with a history of stability and excellent staff retention. The ideal candidate will have experience of using CNC and manual machines to ensure that quotes accurately reflect the work involved.
Duties:
- Work with the Senior Management Team to provide a robust estimating service.
- Oversee the preparation and compilation of estimates for new business in response to requests for proposals.
- Present bids to customers, explain costing principles and sell the organisation's capability and competitiveness.
- Plan and allocate work to the workshop staff.
- Give support to elements of the wider business.
Skills & Experience:
- Engineering and fabrication industry knowledge is essential
- Able to understand technical drawings and BoM's.
- Previous estimating experience gained within a manufacturing engineering company is essential.
- Must have knowledge of various manufacturing processes and materials.
- Must have good attention to detail and be accurate in costing.
- Ability to deal directly with customers and suppliers.
- Must have good word and excel skills
