HalpinRobbins is an ecological and environmental consultancy providing pragmatic and professional advice for development and conservation projects in both the public and private sector. Based close to the Devon/Somerset border, we extend our services across England and Wales. The role

  • Undertake ecological surveys for a variety of protected species and habitats, including bats, reptiles and badgers.
  • Report writing for Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) including completing desk studies and collating and analysing survey data.
  • Professional liaison with clients and colleagues.
  • Undertaking Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles.
  • Opportunities to assist with the Environmental Consultancy department including Nutrient Balance Assessments and shadow Habitat Regulations Assessments.
  • 37.5hrs per week

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience in report writing, client liaison and project management.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of undertaking protected species surveys (bats in particular).
  • Experience of Ecological Clerk of Works
  • Protected Species licence – Bat level 1 or higher
  • Experience with QGIS/ AutoCAD.
  • CIEEM membership or be eligible for membership.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of analysing bat sound files.
  • Relevant degree in Ecology or similar.
  • Previous experience within an ecological consultancy.
  • Other protected species licenses.
