    As a Software Engineer, you’ll be helping our team to produce high quality software which adds value to the business. You’ll focus on supporting our Change Portfolio with the design and development of backend services.

    You’ll also be:

    • Leading on the implementation of microservices using Java and Spring technologies
    • Responsible for the end to end delivery of services and features, and making sure that they’re high quality and on tim
    • Undertaking DevOps activities using Kubernetes
    • Working in permanent teams who are responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
    • Collaborating to optimise our software engineering capability
    • Designing, producing, testing and implementing our working code
    • Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment and operationsThe skills you'll need

      You’ll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers. Ideally, you’ll also have Avaloq Core, Avaloq Banking Suite and Front platform customisation experience, but this isn’t essential.

      You’ll also need:

      • Proven knowledge of Java, Spring and web technologies including Java 11 or 17, REST, Hibernate, Test Driven Development, Swagger or OpenAPI, and web security such as OAuth 2.0

      • Experience of using messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMQ or similar

      • A good understanding of API design tooling such as Swagger tools and API management platforms

      • A track record in developing backend services or web services

      • DevOps knowledge including Docker, GitLab and Jenkins
