Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing infrastructure projects including roads, sewers, and utility layouts
  • Managing Section 278, 184, and 38 agreements under the Highways Act 1980
  • Incorporating Section 104, 106, and 185 agreements of the Water Industries Act 1991 in project design
  • Utilising technical software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS, and MicroDrainage
  • Adhering to local and national design standards such as DMRB, SHW, MfS1 and 2
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project completion
  • Supervising site activities and providing technical support during construction
  • Maintaining project documentation and delivering reports as required


Job Requirements:


To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Design experience in Section 278, 184, and 38 agreements of the Highways Act 1980
  • Knowledge of Section 104, 106, and 185 agreements of the Water Industries Act 1991, and Section 23 of the Land Drainage Act 1991 (desirable)
  • Proficiency in technical software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS, and MicroDrainage (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of current design guidance and standards such as DMRB, SHW, MfS1 and 2, TSRGD and TSMs, LTNs
  • Relevant higher educational qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) and membership of a professional body (ICE, IHE, CIHT) (desirable)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the role and industry
