Citadel Source are delighted to be partnering Exclusively with a highly acquisitive and progressive PLC business based in Bristolto recruit a Financial Accountant to report into the Finance Controller.

This exciting opportunity is a newly formed role following recent acquisition within group. This role will naturally have a broad range of responsibilities and will support the Financial Controller in production and communication of accurate financial information.

This role will deputise the FC and support on a broad range of responsibilities from external audit, statutory accounts production, management accounts as well as budgeting and forecasting activity.

About you

You will be excited to work in an acquisitive and autonomous environment. You will have strong financial control and wider operations knowledge and academically be bright enough to pick up any areas of which you have not been exposed to be able to oversee more junior members .

The role

This role is key to the FD plans to push the business forward and build a robust and scalable finance function which provides visibility and clear direction to the SLT. The successful candidate will take pride in their ability to work to deadlines and thrive within a project/change environment.

As a Financial Accountant your role will include but not limited to:
Production of periodic management accounts, reports and other financial informationCompletion of balance sheet reconciliations for each period ensuring robust justification for balances heldAssist with external auditSupport with tax related queries, PSA returns, statutory accounts etcPartner alongside Management Accountant and Financial Controller with budgets and forecasts as requiredLead and coach the regional assistant accountantSupport Financial Controller in explaining financial results to operational management teamsMaintain and produce external reporting requirementsMaintain spreadsheet models in line with standardised processes Lead the delivery of a robust internal control environment ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and reporting standardsEnsure that journals are posted within the required deadlines, are accurate and appropriately approved.Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all financial and non-financial records
