We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Hospital Porter to join an established team of Porters. The Hospital Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital by providing essential support services.
Responsibilities:
- Transporting patients to and from various hospital departments in a safe and timely manner
- Delivering medical equipment, supplies, and specimens to designated areas
- Assisting with the movement of patients within the hospital, including to and from operating rooms, treatment rooms, and diagnostic areas
- Ensuring that all hospital areas are kept clean and sanitised
- Disposing of medical waste in accordance with hospital protocols
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of patient rooms and treatment areas
- Responding to requests for assistance from hospital staff in a prompt and courteous manner
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all hospital policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Knowledge of basic infection control practices
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
