Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience working with SEN.
  • Certification: SEN Teachers must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • DBS: Must have a DBS on the update service.
  • Skills: Experience with various SEN needs such as ADHD, ASD, PMLD, and behaviour challenges is highly desirable.

SEN Support Staff Job Description: As a member of our SEN Support Staff, you will:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the class teacher.
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
  • Prepare and organise classroom materials and learning resources.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is conducive to learning and is appropriately managed.

SEN Teacher Job Description: As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff and parents.
  • Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed.
  • Manage the behaviour of students in line with the school's policies and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to support the needs of students.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
