Role Summary

Reporting to a Tax Manager, you will be involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the most wealthy and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region. The delivery of your work will be supplemented using cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiencies and client delivery.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Review income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, Iris and Taxshield and providing feedback as appropriateReview work of and aid development of Taxation Associates, Senior Associates and SeniorsResearch more complex tax planning issuesDeal with more complex cases around residency, R&D, remuneration planning and capital gains tax, liaising with the client as appropriate with support from tax partners and directorsUndertake initial reviews of draft tax computations produced by audit and accounts colleaguesThe above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the roleAction queries raised by tax colleagues on the draft tax returns and computationsAct as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queriesAttend client and external events where appropriateAttend clients’ sites or homes where requiredActively participate in department meetingsProvide training, guidance, and support to members of the team as requiredUndertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledgeMake suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm’s systems and processes
Person Specification

Essential
Fully ACA or CTA qualifiedRelevant tax experience gained within practiceExperience of using tax preparation softwareHave excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone and by emailMust have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of ExcelThe ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detailThe ability to judge differing situations and respond accordinglyBe able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problemsBe flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities

Proven experience of delivering excellent client serviceBe willing to undertake further studying to develop knowledgeExperience of developing and managing a teamExperience of tax planning, R&D, reorganisations or inheritance tax
