Senior Quantity Surveyor - Build (High Rise Residential)

Location: Leeds office and project (northern region)

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic award winning construction business with a turnover of circa £100m. The business has a Leeds head office and works across the north and and the Midlands, operating in the student accommodation, PRS, high rise residential sectors.

My client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a high rise residential scheme in central Leeds, with a project value of around £40m.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take on a vital role in ensuring the commercial management of projects from tender to financial close, working closely with the commercial manager and managing quantity surveyor to plan and execute regional commercial strategy.

What will your day to day include?:

  • Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages, undertaking market testing.
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages, negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
  • Managing final accounts.

What are we looking for?

The position of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have experience working on 2 stage construction bids
  • You can demonstrate strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract conditions
  • You have prior experience taking commercial lead on high value construction projects
  • You have experience of procurement and sub contractor management
  • You are comfortable creating in depth commercial reposts for senior stakeholders
  • You hold relevant academic qualification Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / membership to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Desirable
