About the Role:

Mechanical Systems Manager

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates & Facilities UK & Ireland, this role is responsible for the effective management, operation, and support of all mechanical building services, systems, and equipment across the UK & Ireland estate. Key responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning and monitoring of plant and systems, creating and managing maintenance schedules.
  • Development and maintenance of as built drawings.
  • Selecting and managing competent contractors for specialist services.
  • Supporting the Facilities Contracts Administrator with third party service contracts.
  • Collaborating on problem solving processes to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Producing specifications and designs, considering cost, safety, and time constraints.
  • Managing projects using industry best practices.
  • Traveling to various premises to support departmental and business objectives.

Role Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:

Minimum Level 4 qualification in mechanical engineering or related field.

Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in facilities/building services within a manufacturing environment.
  • Management of mechanical building services.
  • Familiarity with high pressure (300bar+) compressed air systems.
  • Operating within safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of current regulations and standards for mechanical building services and systems.
  • Knowledge of regulations for compressed air systems (e.g., PSSR 2000).
  • Swagelok small bore tubing designer and installer certifications are desirable.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IMechE or CIBSE) required.
  • Working towards Engineering Council registration at EngTech or higher is desirable.
