Role: Data Analyst
Location: Plymouth
Position: Temporary until December 2024. Depending on the needs and requirements of the business an extension past this date could be possible.
Pay rate: £16.26 Per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week

Overview:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to help modernise the People Directorate's services. Your role will be crucial in integrating, organising, and managing the department's data. You'll lead the development and delivery of data strategies, visualisations, and business intelligence (BI) solutions, working closely with various teams and managers across the business. This is a temporary role for 4 months starting at the end of August, working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday with an hourly rate of £16.26. Hybrid working considered.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy & Management: Develop and implement a strategy for data collection, management, and utilisation to support the People Directorate's goals.
- Innovative Data Solutions: Design and deliver resilient, user-friendly, and interactive data management and reporting solutions. Embed best practices in data management and analysis.
- Staff Training & Mentoring: Train and mentor staff to maximise the value of data, ensuring effective input and use of data systems.
- Support & Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external initiatives on digitalisation and data management, supporting the Assurance and Service Improvement Manager in data preparation and project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Degree in Data Science or related field.
- Strong knowledge of data management, quality assurance, and relevant legislation.
- Experience in project management, data analysis, and using tools like Power BI.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience in Adult Services or healthcare.
- Experience in policy writing, data gathering for assessments, and working in customer-focused environments.
Skills:
- Ability to identify business opportunities through data.
- Expertise in data visualisation, particularly using Power BI.
- Strong communication skills to engage with senior managers and influence data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines and lead project teams effectively.
