Haringey are looking to recruit 4 experienced Council Tax officers on a contract basis. The main purpose of the role will be to assist with all aspects of Council Tax through to Liability Order. The ideal candidate will have specialist knowledge on Council Tax legislation as the role will be predominantly focused on establishing correct liability and eligibility to discounts/exemptions. They will be required to be point of contact for our Contact centre and partners. What we require from our candidate:

• Proficient in the use of NEC and (email address removed) processing systems

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a revenues team

• Ability to administer Council Tax and respond to all enquiries in line with legislation and council policy

• Ability to negotiate payment plans on Council Tax debt.

• Ability to identify and sign post/support vulnerable and struggling customers

• Ability to liaise with internal and external bodies

• Able to investigate and respond to Cllr/Members and Complaints within set deadlines

• Ability to process any incoming contacts via phone, email, or correspondence and reports within targets and deadline set

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to prioritise and manage workload Candidates will be required to attend the Haringey offices once a week for the duration of their placement
