Location: Hybrid working from Devon or Sheffield (Home based within UK for the right candidate). NCB promotes a hybrid, flexible way of working, staff can work remotely and in the office if they wish.
Status: Fixed term, 12 Months. Part time, 28 hours per week.
Salary: £26,555.00 per annum (0.8 FTE) with generous benefits package including 30 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank holidays and 3 days of Christmas closure.

Research in Practice is part of the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) family. For over 60 years, the NCB has been building a better childhood for all.

Research in Practice works with organisations across the children and adults social care, health and criminal justice sectors, supporting them to develop an evidence-informed approach to their work. Our focus is on using evidence from research, practice and lived experience, to provide resources that improve policy and services, in order to achieve positive outcomes for people of all ages.

As our ideal candidate, you will have experience of developing learning events and activities (primarily in an online learning environment) to support child learning and professional development. The core participants in our learning activities are practitioners and managers in child and family social care (such as family support workers and social workers from early career to Principal Social Worker levels) so experience in this learning and professional development context will be an advantage. You will be an organised, positive and IT-literate professional. You will use your understanding of child learning and professional development theories and your knowledge of child and family social care (or related sectors) to develop content, interactive session structure and resources to support this sector.

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and used to collaborative working. You will have the communication skills to inspire, influence and engage others. Above all, you will share our passion for helping others to use evidence to improve the lives of people of all ages.
