The role

The Drainage Design Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of drainage systems for a variety of projects.

The ideal candidate will be able to

  • Develop both conceptual and detailed designs for drainage systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and report detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Implement sustainable drainage design practices and green infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop strategies and plans to mitigate flood risks in vulnerable areas, including the design of drainage solutions.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure they adhere to project specifications and quality standards.

About you

The Drainage Design Engineer will embody a unique blend of technical expertise and personal attributes that enable them to excel and work collaboratively.

You will tick the below

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in drainage or in design of (SuDS) and understanding of Flood and Water management Act 2010.
  • Proficient in design and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, HEC-RAS, and GIS applications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of implementing drainage principles and flood management policies
