Salary: Circa £45,000 commensurate with skills and experience

 

What you'll be doing:

Produce IT hardware design including supporting bid and estimating activities Conduct IT hardware studies to support future business opportunities Perform maintenance of IT hardware and manage In-Service spares and repairs Provide on call support to service delivery team for Simulation & Training Support contracts Responsible for the build, installation, and commissioning of Commercial off the shelf (COTS) IT hardware systems

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Breadth of knowledge and experience of IT hardware Systems Ability to understand requirements to derive IT hardware requirements and to create IT hardware solutions to meet the requirements. Ability to create technical specifications in response to requirements. Ability to install and maintain IT hardware, including networks, in a large complex multi-site facility. Ability to explain technical issues to management teams in formal and informal project reviews. Ability to liaise with suppliers and lead discussions regarding candidate technical solutions Degree qualified or relevant experience

The Modelling and Simulation Team:

The Modelling and Simulation Team operates across a number of technology development-based programmes in support of Royal Navy Warfare Training (Surface & Subsurface) and Combat System Integration test tools.

The IT Hardware & Support engineer will work within the current team based at Broad Oak with regular customer site visits; supporting a wide range of tasks to enable successful installation, modification, and support of IT hardware. The role will involve liaison with the Ministry of Defence Site Coordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA) providing the opportunity to develop and enhance your current skills and knowledge, with the potential to lead into more senior positions within a global business.
