At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.
As a Sequence 4 Deputy Lead, reporting to the Sequence 4 Lead based in France, you will have operational reporting responsibilities to the ITB-P Manager within the ITB organisation.

What you'll be doing
- Defining the process and method for updating system documentation to support commissioning sequences, ensuring alignment with the project strategy.
- Managing interfaces with other MA and sequences: identifying required inputs, defining activities using existing tools and processes, and ensuring planning aligns with the overall schedule.
- Resolving scheduling and cost impacts in consultation with the Project Directorate.
- Supporting the Start of Commissioning (SOC) sequence in coordination with the SOC representative and manager.
- Coordinating system methods, tools, and schedules with other engineering entities.
- Defining the overall schedule in alignment with Intermediate Commissioning Milestones and ensure consistency between L2 and L3 schedules.
- Assisting the sequence lead with risk and opportunity management within the scope.
- Conducting reviews with clients (e.g., monthly meetings on Engineering program, delivery, and schedule) and with RD teams (e.g., I&C-Process Committee).
- Supporting the sequence lead with contractual instructions, contributing to Change Requests (CR) and Change Orders (CE), coordinating contributions, and providing commercial arguments.
- Managing the transition process: supporting the setup of the I&C integrated team and overseeing the handover of MA or systems.
- Coordinating overall transverse topics.
Who you are
Your background may include some of the following:
- Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of overall nuclear engineering sequence.
- Relevant experience in the nuclear industry (5 to 10 years).
- Experience in managing schedule and budgets/costs of workforce.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally.
- Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices including France and Germany.
- Continuously looking for opportunities to improve quality of engineering studies and the subsequent documentation produced.
