As a Paralegal within our Probate team, you will provide support on cases for a wide range of private clients. This is an opportunity to join and progress your career within an experienced and supportive team and enjoy a wide spread of work.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:          

  • Conduct of private client and related matters on behalf of clients. Running your own caseload (dependant on experience) or assisting other fee earners on matters to include drafting of Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with Estate Administration.
  • Deal with routine enquiries from telephone callers and clients effectively and efficiently
  • Conduct all matters in the client's best interest and in accordance with the highest professional standards and applicable "quality" standards at all times.
  • Maintain files in a neat and orderly manner and ensure that each file is reviewed every month.
  • Maintain time recording on client matters and non-matter activities on a daily basis.
  • Such other reasonable duties as and when required by your Line Manager.

Skills Required:

  • Some Private client experience in Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration (practical or through CILEX)
  • Excellent teamworking and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities with a positive and proactive approach to tasks
  • Excellent client facing skills and the ability to nurture existing clients and third-party relationships as well as the ability to help develop new business and assist in networking events.
  • Ability to adopt a practical as well as legal approach to client issues
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Understand and adopt the Firm’s values and behaviours
  • A willingness to undertake the STEP and/or CILEX qualifications.
