We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group.

Within a week of working here, your day could look like this: being responsible for using computer science and data analytics techniques to ensure that CPRD observational research services are efficient and accurate. Responsibilities include using languages such as R, Stata, Python, and/or SQL to provide standardised and modular programming code for the analysis of CPRD data; identifying and developing workflow solutions to make business activities more effective; and quality assuring CPRD research data outputs.

The successful candidate will have a degree in either a computer science, software engineering, or maths-based subject.  In-depth knowledge of working with large volumes of structured data and database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle, to ensure that data used in research is current, timely, quality assured, and robust.

  • Experience of using data science to analyse and model healthcare data at scale.
  • Experience of developing systems or tools to facilitate research.
  • Expertise in using statistical programming tools such as R, Stata, Python, and SQL.
  • Demonstrable evidence of effectively leading and monitoring data modelling, analysis, and quality assurance projects, and presenting the results.
