An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Performance Officer to join the Performance and Business Intelligence . The post holder will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all monthly, quarterly and annual returns and quality monitoring within agreed timescales. This may involve, on occasions, working out of normal hours.

We are looking for someone with fantastic organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead whilst being reactive to change is imperative. Most importantly a great communicator most effectively with colleagues at all levels. You will need to be resilient, flexible, influential and informative as well as having a positive 'can do' attitude. The post holder will be required to work at Shrewsbury Business Park and across both Hospital sites.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible to support the Senior Performance analyst and Performance analysts in ensuring that statistical and statutory returns are completed for the Department of Health, Trust and other organisation's (e.g. NHS Improvement) within the deadlines for submissions e.g. planning, prioritising and organising of straightforward tasks and activities.

Responsible for the processing data ensuring audit checks are regularly carried out and data integrity is maintained.

Processing of data and producing routine reports and graphs by manipulating the data in a variety of software, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access.

Support the delivery of both regular and ad-hoc information to clinicians and managers for monitoring of service performance as delegated by the Senior Performance Analyst and Performance Analysts.

Responsible for the monitoring of data quality reports.

Responsible for bringing any concerns about data quality to the attention of the appropriate team member, and jointly to develop appropriate action plans to rectify the problems, including proposed changes in Policy and Procedure in own department.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE including Mathematics and English
  • NVQ or equivalent qualification or equivalent experience gained working in the NHS.
  • Certificate in using Microsoft Office Applications.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Evidence of organisational and time management skills
  • In depth knowledge Of NHS data sets and statutory returns
  • Excellent analytical and numeric skills and methodical approach to problem solving
Experience
  • Experience of working in Information management/reporting
  • Previous NHS Experience
