Known for our commitment to quality and innovation, we are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager with some basic electrical knowledge to oversee our projects in Milton Keynes.

Job Description: As a Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing both new and refurbishment projects within the commercial, industrial, and education sectors. Your role will involve ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a key position within our company, offering significant opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage new and refurbishment projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanical engineers, subcontractors, and other project team members.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, understanding their needs, and providing regular project updates.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring all project activities are properly documented and tracked.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all mechanical and basic electrical work meets regulatory standards and client specifications.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role within the building services sector.
  • Strong mechanical background with some basic electrical knowledge and extensive experience in new projects and refurbishments within the commercial, industrial (including solar farms), and education sectors.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams effectively.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or building services (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies is advantageous.
