Our client, an architectural practice based in Newport are seeking a Senior Architect to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architect to join an expanding practice that have an excellent reputation. The most successful Senior Architect should be confident running their own projects. Due to the variety of sectors that our client work within, they are flexible with career background but do require someone who's highly competent.
Our client is seeking someone who has experience running their own projects & has the ability to lead a team on various projects in different sectors. Our client is an expert at designing and delivering projects and have gained an excellent reputation in the South-West region in particular. They are a design-led practice, with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects with high attention to detail. Projects vary from client to client including small to large scale extensions, refurbishments and conversions. Sectors that this practice operates within include Residential, Leisure, Commercial, Healthcare and Education as well as some Defence. In particular they are looking for someone with a strong Education background. A few responsibilities include creating detailed drawings, working drawings and produce planning applications for several projects as well as producing 3D technical drawings, running projects and liaising with clients. They are a Revit/BIM practice but are happy to train candidates if they do not have the software knowledge prior to joining, for our client it is more about the right personality and experience. Our client is seeking someone who will be confident running Design and/or Technical teams.

Senior Architect Position Overview- Assist other members of staff
- Take responsibility in running a team
- Liaise with clients / contractors
- Work independently as well as in a team at times
- Attend Site Visits
- Develop project briefs
- Meet with professionals / clients to agree a project brief
- Guide and mentor team members
- Work on a range of projects in a variety of sectors
- Attend site visits
- ARB Registered Architect
- 5 years' + experience post Part III
- Strong experience in the Education sector
- Live within a commutable distance of Newport
- Revit knowledge (advantageous - training can be given)
- Excellent design skills
- Hard working and motivated individual
- Ability to work well within a team
- Ability to run projects
- Open for discussion - in line with guidelines and suited experience
