Job Title: Assurance Section Manager

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Up to £52,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring all work meets Quality Procedures and Product Safety standards
  • Coordinating and overseeing Marine Engineering system and equipment assurance activities
  • Generating and validating technical documentation and reports, including Test Forms and Technical Inspection Reports
  • Providing assurance that work conducted on Marine Engineering systems and equipment by delivery teams is correct to defined specifications and ready for customer acceptance prior to presentation
  • Providing best practice and guidance to the Project's Team, COM, WTA, SS, the wider customer community, and other external authorities on all matters related to the assurance of Marine Engineering systems
  • Acting as the primary POC for customers, outside authorities, and peers for all technical issues and challenges related to inspection, testing, and trials

Your skills and experiences:

  • Detailed technical knowledge and broad experience of Marine Engineering systems as fitted to RN Warships, and factors that may affect their performance
  • Previous experience managing and conducting Engineering Test and Trials on RN Warships
  • Broad understanding of the principles of assurance and acceptance processes used and of Product Safety engineering practices
  • Knowledge of the defence maritime industry, particularly the MoD Maritime structure, departments, and the Common Support Model, as well as key company and MoD processes

The Assurance Group team:

The highly qualified engineers that make up the BAE Systems Assurance Group are a small group that oversee and carry out all engineering equipment inspection, trials, and assurance testing.

As the Assurance Section Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and readiness of marine engineering systems and equipment, ensuring that all engineering work meets defined specifications and is ready for customer acceptance, while also offering technical advice to support project timelines and objectives.
