This role will provide support to the Financial Reporting Manager in the performance of their duties. Whilst principally responsible for the Fixed Assets and Prepayments accounting this role will also support Financial Reporting Manager in month end reporting and year end consolidation. Our client is looking for a qualified Accountant ideally, with practice, and audit experience.
Main duties/responsibilities
Financial Control Process
Support audit as required (internal and external)
Financial Accounting
Support Financial Reporting Manager in month end report.Support Financial Reporting Manager in preparation of year-end consolidation.Support and backup for the other Financial Accountants and Intercompany AccountantSupport ad hoc queries from the business and affiliates.
Balance sheet control
Provide complete and accurately reconciled balance sheet rec's related to Prepayments and Fixed Assets accounts
Transaction Processing
Assist the Financial Accounting team by maintaining clean accounts in SAPAssisting with month-end tasks (prepayments and fixed assets reconciliations)Collate, prepare and process recharge invoices / credit notes in SAP, with correct backup and ensure the correct approval is obtained.Ensuring that the UK assets are correctly recorded and appropriately safeguardedFiling of month-end records and the periodic archiving for the Finance recordsFixed Asset accountingLiaise with internal colleagues to resolve all relevant issuesMaintain the prepayment accounts - including the checking, releasing, posting and reconciling of the relevant accounts.Monthly journals postingPosting of Prepayments and month end JournalsPosting of Depreciation charge monthly.Capitalisation of Fixed Assets and monitoring of CIP accountsResponsible for the creation of Internal Orders Support the maintenance of the fixed asset register and update with additions as required.Support the periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets. Qualifications and Experience Required. Qualified accountantBig4 working experience or experience of working in an accounting environment previously a similar role.Competent IT skills are required, specifically Excel.Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP is desirable.
